Tapping into the business travel market in the Middle East, BCD Travel acquired Apollo Travel in Yemen in early 2009. Later that year BCD expanded its operations in Greece by forming a joint venture with Amphitrion Holidays; the joint venture operates under the BCD Travel banner.
After trying to come up with a way to travel together, WorldTravel BTI's co-owners -- UK travel management giant Hogg Robinson and BCD Holdings -- decided to go their own ways in 2006. BCD Holdings wound up in control, and it subsequently acquired British corporate travel agency The Travel Company and integrated it with WorldTravel BTI. – less
