Server Software Developer

You are a fearless champion of scalability. With experience in building robust and highly performing cross-platform servers, exposure to multiple tech stacks, and ability to deliver what is needed, when it is needed, you will be instrumental in bringing the next generation of our client’s platforms to an order of magnitude larger audience as our client expands into additional global markets and into new distribution channels.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years architecting, designing and developing highly scalable client/server platforms
  • Experience working in C++ & Java within Windows & Linux
  • Proven success with scaling to millions of users
  • Experience in a full enterprise software development life cycle – Strategy/concept, design, develop, deploy, test, release to production and support
  • Excellent knowledge of OOA, OOD and OOP
  • Expertise in solving multi-threading/concurrency/performance and socket/network issues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Fearlessness in the face of the unknown

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in developing scalable multi-player game servers
  • Experience with Server-Client communication protocols and technologies (SOAP, REST, XML, JSON, etc.)
  • Experience with high performance, clustered, asynchronous messaging systems is a plus
  • Experience with game engines is a plus
  • Preferred tools: Redmine, SVN, Eclipse, ANT
  • Experience with scripting languages: Phyton, Ruby of Rails, LUA
  • Experience with analytics and business intelligence tools and processes is an asset
  • Experience with Java, Tomcat, JBoss, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Hybernate is an asset
  • Experience with data reporting tools, ETL and reporting portals is an asset
  • Good analytical skills, detail oriented and self-motivated
  • Abilities of self-management and multi-tasking within an environment of rapidly changing priorities
