Bakker Technical Services is currently hiring for our Tier One Automotive client in St. Catharines, for the right candidate this could potentially become a permanent position.

Maintenance Supervisor 4
Supervise and provide technical direction to skilled trades employees. Administer planned and predictive maintenance program. Manage the maintenance resources in support of the business team objectives.
Ensure proper problem solving for first time and permanent resolution. Allocate resources to provide timely service on priority basis.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
Implement and actively support the plant and corporate safety policies and initiatives
Diagnose equipment malfunction, determine root cause and initiate immediate and long-term corrections
Responsible for the effective use of personnel, material and equipment in supporting SPQRC initiatives
Implement safety and good housekeeping standards
Train, develop, and evaluate employees
Comply with terms of Local and National Labor agreements and supports divisional and corporate policies
Initiate contact with others outside of work group when required to solve problems
Implement planned maintenance activities
Complete work assignments required within budget, manpower and timing constraints
Establish, implement and maintain long-range plans for improvement of maintenance activities and provide technical assistance to the manufacturing departments supported
Must support plant in achieving Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness and Cost goals
Must be willing to work any assigned shift, work daily, weekend, and holiday overtime as required
Support/implement the QS9000/ISO14001/manufacturing system compliance processes

Required Skills/Experience
16 years + supervisory experience
Demonstrated high level of ability in the areas listed below
Experience in supervision of multi-trade workforce
High level of analytical ability where problems are complex
High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate employees and elicit work output
Ability to interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
Effective oral and written communication skills
Knowledge of mechanical and electrical concepts
Experience in machine, assembly and/or facility areas
Training in skilled trades area or equivalent technical training
Knowledge of and able to insure a safe industrial work environment

Required Education/Training
Minimum High School Diploma or GED

Additional Education & Certifications
Engineering degree or Licensed tradesperson
Previous maintenance supervisor experience
Experience in lean manufacturing systems
Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated analytical ability and problem solving skills
Demonstrated computer skills
Willingness to work shifts and overtime as required (includes weekends)
