Hours of work: various shifts including weekends.

Responsibilities
Under supervision within established protocols, the Laboratory Assistant carries out a variety of basic procedures/duties including specimen procurement and processing, clerical support, instructing patients and other related duties.

Qualifications
Required: Grade 12 or equivalent. Biology and chemistry an asset.
Ability to communicate with staff and clients in a calm and professional manner.
Computer skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under stressful situations are required.
Desired: Graduate of a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant program or successful completion of a Medical Laboratory Assistant correspondence course which includes specimen handling and phlebotomy.
