We are looking for a reliable individual who has an eye for detail and can communicate clearly.
This is a full-time position. You are required to work rotating shifts every two weeks:
Days ~ Monday-Friday 7am-3pm
Afternoons ~ Monday-Friday 3pm-11pm
Nights ~ Sunday 7pm-7am, Monday-Thursday 11pm-7am
*Over time starts after 40 hours
**Your own transportation is ideal due to rotating shifts. Nearest bus stop is a 15 minute walk from the plant.

-Read drawings (follow instructions\specifications) to ensure masking, blasting and paint items are in accordancxe to spec.
-Examine incoming jobs to ensure conformance to specification, record and report non-conformances
-Use of Testex tape, micrometer, and profile gauge to evaluate and record profile of abrasive cleaned steel as per job specifications and quality standards.
-Use of black light technique to ensure cleaned surface of steel is free from oil
-Use of K.T.A. surface contamination kit to ensure surface is free from soluble contamination such as chlorides and sulphates
-Use of a wet film gauge to assure compliant coating thickness
-Use of an electronic or magnetic dry film thickness gauge to test for dry film thickness to SSPC or Blastech quality standards.
-Keep records of all activities and test data as required by job specifications and Blastech quality standards in a neat and readable fashion
-Perform any other quality assurance verification tests
-Provide assistance on jobs as required to ensure customer service and production levels
-Perform other functions as directed by supervisor
-Good oral and written communication skills (English).
-Basic computer skills – MS Excel & Word, Outlook, (MS Project an asset)
-Basic understanding and be able to recognize surfaces acceptable for painting
-SSPC or other Paint Coating inspection certification - asset
-Able to work overtime\weekends as required to meet production levels
-Willingness to work outside, and in dirty or hot/cold environments
-Trained in PPE, safety procedures, first aid – asset
