The Email Marketing Specialist is responsible for developing email campaigns as well as tactical execution of those campaigns to enhance customer retention and profitability. The ideal candidate must have extensive knowledge of email marketing, list management, segmentation, and email analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and manage all BCAA email marketing campaigns.
Strategize with internal Stakeholders on email marketing campaigns.
Set measurable goals and objectives for email marketing campaigns.
Coordinate the development of creative and content for all emails.
Provide monthly updates on key metrics, ROI and key trends for email program.
Work with email delivery system (Exact Target) for the production and deployment.
Ensure accuracy in copy, promotion, pricing and links for all emails.
Review email content deliverables and ensures quality.
Keep up to date with CAN-SPAM and email best practices to provide direction and improve performance.
Work closely with analytics team to determine targeting criteria as well as test designs within overall contact strategy.
Responsible for building and managing email lists from the BCAA database.
Manage segmentation of the list and develop targeted email campaigns.
Accountable for optimizing performance of the email program.
Develop and present new testing schedule and ideas to increase performance.
Develop deep understanding of email metrics and associated drivers.
Develop creative briefs and work with the agency and production team on creative deployment.
Implements email strategy to deliver customer/subscriber retention, list growth, counter attrition and increase engagement.
Works directly with creative teams; provides direction/feedback on email design templates, completes HTML template testing and modifications.
Interfaces effectively with Marketing, IT and other internal teams as well as external agencies to collaborate on project plans.
Provides backup support for, content changes and issue management.

Minimum Qualifications:

College Diploma in Marketing, or other related field.

4-5 years’ experience in a medium-to-large scale digital inbound marketing programs.
Prior experience working email service providers (experience working Exact Target a plus)
Business-to-customer campaign management and demand generation experience.
Knowledge and experience with digital marketing, marketing automation and campaign management tools.
Knowledge of email best practices and success metrics and Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation.
Knowledge of lead generation best practices.
Demonstrated knowledge of HTML/CSS code including email coding best practices and rendering troubleshooting.
Demonstrated ease, facility, and interest in working with data, including standard email engagement metrics and web analytics tools (such as Google Analytics).
Demonstrated ability to manage a large number of email campaigns.
Understanding of email marketing operations, technology, testing techniques and platforms.
Knowledge of and competency in project management processes including planning tasks, resource allocations, risk management, time management, financial management, monitoring and reporting, documenting and record keeping.
Proactive mindset and ability to plan, communicate, and deliver project plans accordingly.
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment and have sound business judgment in project prioritization.

Other Skills:
Comfortable with and able to demonstrate appropriate conflict resolution strategies and know when and how to escalate issues to the appropriate stakeholder.
Strong interpersonal skills; the ability to work well with people from different disciplines with varying degrees of marketing and technical experience; competence in clear concise and tactful communication (verbal and written) with senior management, clients, peers and team members.
Excellent oral/written presentation skills.
Adaptability and flexibility to manage deadline pressure, ambiguity and change.
Strong decision making, problem solving and leadership skills.
Results oriented self-starter with ability to work independently.
Ability to execute quickly and with high-quality precision.

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, or other related field.
