About the Opportunity

The Manager IMIT Planning and Architecture is an exciting new role at BC Assessment established to drive the creation and evolution of a multi-year IMIT plan and the Enterprise Architecture required to support the business direction of the company.

If you have a university degree in Information Management, Information and Communications Technology, Computer Science and a minimum of seven years experience in strategic planning and business transformation in a technology-dependent business area or information systems branch, in addition to experience developing, managing, and maintaining several components of IMIT architecture, this is the opportunity for you!

BC Assessment continues to drive a very progressive business strategy which requires the application of a very diverse set of information and communication technologies. The IMIT plan will provide a technology roadmap that will guide the prioritization and resourcing of new solution development projects to support the business strategy as well as provide the direction for the creation of supporting IMIT operational processes and tools. The Enterprise Architecture will align with the target operating model of the business and describe the information, solution and technology architectures that support this model. You will play a key role in helping to advance the IMIT maturity of BC Assessment by collaborating with the management team to drive improved business results and to build a stronger IMIT planning and architectural framework which is the key to a mature IMIT environment. This position will initially report to the Vice President of Business & Customer Services, then to the Director of Solutions Development following an organizational realignment currently underway.

In the first year, you can expect to be part of a team based initiative to:

  • Lead the development of the IMIT Plan to provide direction for the prioritization and development of detailed plans for 2014 -2018
  • Create an initial view of the supporting information architecture, solution architecture and technical architecture.
  • Ensure that the Business & Customer Services Division multi-year plan aligns with the IMIT plan
