Provincial Crew Scheduler - Full Time Irregular

Reporting to the Scheduling Supervisor, you will be responsible for preparing and maintaining shift schedules for BC Ambulance paramedics in an assigned region. In this fast paced and dynamic role, you will produce work schedules and respond to requests for changes to approved schedules, which occur when paramedics are absent from work due to unforeseen reasons. Provincial Scheduling is a 24/7 department. Full time irregularly scheduled Provincial Crew Schedulers will be required to work a variety of shifts on days, evenings, nights, and weekends.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
-3 years experience in a computerized office environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
-Experience in scheduling personnel, events and/or facilities preferred
-Grade 12 or equivalent
-Knowledge of provincial geographical locations a strong asset to the position

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
-Excellent computer skills (Windows environment) with a minimum of 40 wpm (you will be required to complete a typing test to demonstrate this)
-Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a member of a team
-Ability to work in a fast paced, often stressful environment
-Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner
-Strong telephone and written communication skills
-Ability to multitask and pay attention to detail
-Ability to record and maintain documentation of work performed
-Must be able and willing to work shifts involving nights, weekends and statutory holidays
-May be required to work overtime to meet operational demands

Please note: Considerable telephone work is a major part of the job duties.
