Advanced Diagnostics Engineer (ES) CMS (Former Employee), Highlands Ranch, CODecember 11, 2013
Pros: virtual office
Cons: high workload
My typical Day at work is to get escalations for a Product called Call Management System, I also would receive requests to assist in installs for our client application called CMS Supervisor. I was the Subject Matter expert for this application and would assist installing it in many different environments. I recently was laid off due to cuts being done – more... in the whole Avaya organization and will miss all of my co-workers and those that made me the IT professional I am today – less

Cons: the company lowered head count to reduce expenses, rather than pursue organic growth of the business.
I would take 20 to 30 customer calls during a shift. I would handle a variety of requests and help other associates handle their calls, when they came across a request they did not know the answer or methods available, to complete the request.

Services Account Manager III (Current Employee), Greater Chicago Area, ILJuly 9, 2013
Pros: comp plan accelarators
Cons: hours
Avaya continues to deliver exciting new products and services to market in support of Unified Communications and Collaboration and Contact Center. The environment is exciting and electric and provides new challenges in terms of professional growth, customer problem solving and the ability to navigate the competitive field.

The hardest part of working – more... at Avaya is staying ahead of competitors who have more feet embedded within accounts. Overcoming the "Avaya as dial-tone" means being sharper about being able to describe the Avaya value proposition and position Avaya at the correct customer levels. Success depends highly upon the creativity of the employees and the ability to think outside of the box.

The most enjoyable part of the job is opening a customer's eyes to not only what is possible with communications but what is available today from Avaya. Support for Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) is a critical conversation that every employee needs to have with every customer. Video is also key to success and the ability to penetrate deeper and wider into customer environments. – less
