Service Sales Director (Former Employee) – Markham, ON – 15 January 2018
Avaya has a huge problem with their technology, they inherited the enterprise portfolio from Nortel and completely abandoned all of the positive benefits from the Nortel portfolio. Avaya also did not properly incorporate and/or manage the Nortel Enterprise data portfolio. Whereas Nortel's philosophy was the customer always came first, Avaya's was to try to swindle as much money from the customer as possible...and often by producing long, complicated and illegible quotes/proposals
SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER (Former Employee) – Markham, ON – 19 December 2017
focus of company is entirely on revenue, not customer satisfaction. Each employee group works against others in order to protect their own revenue results. Lots of unnecessary processes, tracking, reporting diminishing time that customer-facing employees have to actually work with customers. No training on new products so teams have to learn as they implement. Pricing models are flawed. No work-life balance.
Technical Support Specialist (Current Employee) – Saint John, NB – 9 October 2017
There are a lot of new Platforms in Avaya which can give many chances to employees to grow their technical and troubleshooting skills. Everyday we get a chance to work with our deployment team where we can understand the concept how every product is working in call flow.
Dynamic and always cutting edge. Coworkers are diverse and provides a fresh outlook and a wealth of experience.
The organisation is the best work culture which is results oriented and does not focus on micro-management of staff.
Most employees work as virtual office workers which allows for a lot of flexibility in the work home life balance. Travel is a strong requirement as most staff are spread across the Northern Hemisphere.
Lots of growth and advancement opportunity. BUT...
Business Ops (Current Employee) – Toronto, ON – 18 May 2016
Growth opportunity occurs as result of continuous restructuring. Ongoing transformation and business direction pivots seemingly daily, but more likely monthly. Very difficult culture to achieve business results. Company is loaded with very bright and dedicated, hard working employees and even some managers but leadership waffles, is indecisive and is clearly focused on survival, which naturally creates a culture with no consideration for talent or retention.
