Director of Quality Assurance (Manufacturing) (#3837832)

Reporting to the Vice President of Manufacturing and Global Supply Chain, the Director of Quality Assurance will collaborate with the Engineering, Manufacturing and Supply Chain to ensure that quality standards and objectives are met in a timely manner. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background and will also possess a strong foundation in project management.

Responsibilities include:

  • Champion the manufacturing facility’s Quality Management System
  • Collaborate with Operations and other departments in developing and executing company strategies
  • Gather and analyze data to plan, coordinate and report quality improvements and develop reports on rejected or defected products
  • Troubleshoots quality problems
  • Develop and report Quality Assurance metrics
  • Oversee the documentation, process requirements and implementation of ISO9001:2008
  • Define and maintain the project plan, schedule and timeline for various projects
  • Achieves financial objectives by preparing the department budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions
  • Create Quality Plan with the process dimensions, tests, sampling frequency, inspection method, criteria, etc
  • Manage and mentor the Manufacturing Quality Assurance team, including setting performance objectives, regular team meetings and communicating direction and changes
  • Communicate back to the Manufacturing facility on current or potential quality issues
  • Develop quality control procedures for internal quality issues and assist internal audit program and conduct internal audits as needed
  • Assist in the management of test and inspection plans and product reliability, supplier quality program, risk management and ensure compliance of ISO 9001
  • Assist in current and future product compliance requirements (REACH, SASO etc)
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 5 years plus of senior management experience in a similar role required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent
  • CQE, Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred
  • Experience/training in machining, welding, fabrication and/or large assembly processes
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple priorities and deliver on priorities in a timely manner
  • Ability to manage a diverse team and direct activities to deliver on expectations
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to be able to engage with stakeholders at all levels across the business
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and operating under tight time constraints with a strong sense of urgency
  • Exceptional organizational, oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
  • Superior analytical skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
