As the Cost Accountant you’ll be responsible for the ongoing analysis of process constraints, target costing projects, margin analysis, and tracing costs back to underlying activities. The Cost Accountant must also construct and monitor those cost-effective data accumulation systems needed to provide an appropriate level of costing information to management.
Construct data accumulation systems for a cost accounting system
Assist with NetSuite MRP implementation and reporting
Create and review the controls needed for data accumulation and reporting systems
Investigate cycle counting variances and resolve issues
Update standard costs in the bill of materials
Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies
Validate the cost of goods sold as part of the month-end close
Accumulate and apply overhead costs are required
Conduct ongoing process constraint analyses
Report on breakeven points by products, work centers, and factories
Report on margins by product and division
Report on periodic variances and their causes, focusing in particular on spending variances
Perform cost accumulation tasks
Calculate direct labor, material and production costs
Review standard and actual costs for variances and report variances to management for decision-making purposes
Our Ideal Candidate:
Is passionate about our mission and lives life accordingly
Possesses at least 7 years of cost accounting experience to implement MRP, ideally within a manufacturing / retail grocery environment
Bachelor’s degree, as well as excellent analysis skills, and the ability to collaborate with a multi-department team
Experience manipulating large databases
Worked with multiple plants and multiple warehouses
Strong financial acumen
Strong analytical capabilities
Is a consummate professional, building process excellence through superb collaboration and planning
Thrives in a fast-paced, start-up environment, leveraging best practices with pragmatism
Is proactive, mature and result driven, with expert-level project and process management skills that allows work across multiple projects at any given time under tight deadlines
