A customer focused and consulting company
Solutions Developer (Former Employee), Mississauga, ONApril 20, 2013
Avanade offers rich cultural and high-tech environment. It stood one step ahead of other organizations in terms of technology and number of overall certifications. It is purely a customer focused compnay. During my tenure in Avanade I gained MCSD certification as well as consulting skills.

Excellent company to work for
Senior Business Analyst, (Former Employee), San Francisco, CAJune 8, 2014
I really enjoyed my time at Avanade. The corporate culture was unique, highly qualified people, always ready to help and supportive. Great friendships developed during this time. We really had fun working and there was definitely a work life balance. The management is great, unique again. Work was generally easy for me as I'm a hard worker and when – more... help was required it was given immediately. It was a joy to speak with everyone at the company which made the work enjoyable.

Overall good package, the salary was not very competitive but sick leave/vacation were not an issue at all. Quite flexible environment. – less

Developers....only developers
Business Analyst (Current Employee), Milano, LOMMarch 2, 2014
Pros: young management
Cons: managers are often senior developers
This company focuses a lot on developers as the main resource. BA are less important.

pathetic company
Program Manager (Former Employee), Houston, TXFebruary 23, 2014
Cons: you don't feel a part of the company, no one cares for the employees, middle management is pathetic and live in fools paradise
Pathetic company to work. non existent interaction between employees, poor management and no vision. Being a subsidiary of Accenture and Microsoft, the company has no Independent Identity, vision or strategy. Management is filled with ex Accenture people who are already retired in their minds. The company only gets leftover or unwanted projects from – more... Accenture and has very little of their direct business. Even senior people sit on bench for months together and no one even cares to talk to them. This is probably the only company that hires senior middle management people with any particular position. A new employee starts his career on bench and has to wait to get staffed. Sometimes it takes months and it may not even happen and then you have to leave as they can't get you staffed. Meanwhile no one will ever talk to you. NEVER WORK FOR THIS COMPANY – less

A great learning experience
Intern - Infrastructure Engineer (Former Employee), Seattle, WAFebruary 18, 2014
Pros: environment, location
I was an intern here for 3 years. I started out as a online marketing intern and then moved into the IT department. There was a lot of flexibility for me to get my work done while also learning how to operate within a corporate company.

Excellent Firm to Build a Career
Project Manager (Current Employee), Seattle, WASeptember 18, 2013
Pros: training, ability to move move laterally and advance, excellent benefits
Cons: 80% travel, don't nessessarily know your career manager, the team you work with changes from project to project
At Avanade you will work extremely hard and it will be worth it. You will learn to work with different clients, be exposed to different technologies most of the time cutting edge technologies. There is a lot of networking within the organization that allows you learn about new opportunities, get help on existing projects and feel like you are part of – more... a larger team. I believe you are. – less

A solid Microsoft Business Technology Consultancy
Business Development Director (Current Employee), Irvine, CAMay 29, 2013
Pros: high quality people
Cons: flawed/incomplete strategy for revenue growth
Avanade has a number of strong attributes in its consulting practice. The biggest challenge is it lacks focus and discipline around sales/marketing, instead relying on Accenture for the majority of its business

Just so so...
MD Anderson Cancer Center - Business Analyst (Former Employee), Houston, TXMay 8, 2013
Pros: pay
Cons: leadership, security
I was pretty excited to go work there. They have some good opportunities, but I got moved around a lot to several different projects in what felt like a very haphazard manner. The leadership is a little lacking on a middle management level, and I just never got that "I'm part of a company" feeling.

If you're a pure consultant, this may be a good place – more... for you, but if you're looking for something a little more stable, this likely isn't the company. – less
