Automotive Service Technician - Journeyman or Apprentice

We are willing to train the following skills & credentials or start out an apprentice at any level. All options will be considered.

Technical Skills:
Have and maintain advanced technical knowledge of automobiles & light truck
Ability to communicate effectively (Ability to read, write, & speak English fluently)
Basic personal computer knowledge
Physically fit to perform required duties of job description
Has neat and legible writing
Demonstrate flexibility to perform maintenance, service, & repair work on various types of vehicles including Domestic, Asian, & Some European.
Participate in all company supported training programs

Credentials:
Valid Automotive Service Technician License
Valid high school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver’s license w/properly maintained record, driver’s abstract must be supplied upon request
Possess required tools, maintain in proper working condition, and upgrade as necessary
Certified to perform government inspections & emission tests, we are able to certify you, if needed

Must follow code of conduct as outlined by company policy. (Profanity, harassment, equipment use, discrimination, substance abuse, etc.)
Ability to perform multiple tasks with confidence, quality & effectiveness
Conflict Resolution Skills - Is able to resolve stressful situations when required

General Shop & Administrative Tasks:
Utilize team labour management system provided
Ensure inspections have been completed on every vehicle as required by shop policy
Understand, utilize, and suggest maintenance, service packages, & promotions that AutoTrust Service Corporation has to offer
Utilize service line prioritization system provided by facility
Provides date for the client’s next appointment consistently for maintenance and repairs
Ensure consistent & proper utilization of rack workflow
Responsible for proper handling of parts & materials regarding: warranties, returns, client requests, and cores
Meet professional appearance standards of AutoTrust Service Corporation
Utilize parts bin system provided by facility
Perform quality control procedures as outlined by shop policy

In Regards to the Service Advisor Job Description:
Works together with the service advisor to inform, educate, and advise on technical & maintenance issues that need to be addressed within a time period provided by the technician
Is accountable for descriptive documentation of “Cause” stating parts and service required for “Correction” of client’s “Concern” and “Confirmation” after repair
Ensure sold times are listed for each service line before proceeding with any work
Notify service advisors of any conditions requiring additional sold times during initial inspection
Able to consistently respond to client “Concerns” utilizing “Cause” and “Correction” "Confirmation" procedures
Is responsible for accuracy of technician worksheets upon completion of vehicle services

In Regards to the Client:
Utilize client communication forms (i.e. Drivability, cooling, vibration, etc.)
Must have knowledge and understanding of the features & benefits of the products and services available to clients

Teamwork:
Develop & maintain positive / professional relationships with all co-workers
Adhere to shop safety standards, taking all possible precautions to insure the safety and health of self and others through maintaining a safe work environment
Inspire other technicians and apprentices by coaching / mentoring
Ability to implement & support policies, systems & procedures
