Title: Service Manager-High End Car Care and Service Centre
Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time
Salary: Salary will be based on experience plus performance bonuses

Skill Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma or College Degree

Credentials:

• 5 years’ combined experience in an automotive service environment (e.g. Service Advisor, Mechanic/Technician and /or Shop Foreman)
• General understanding of vehicle mechanics.
• Strong business and employee management competencies
• Valid Ontario driver’s license
• Knowledge of marketing and finance

Skill & Effort:

• Strong decision making and multi-tasking abilities
• Effective administrative and management capabilities
• Strong concentration when dealing with numbers and statistics
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Manual dexterity for typing/keyboarding
• Computer literate

Responsibilities

• Ensure high quality service and repairs are provided to customers
• Manage the Service Department to achieve sales, profits and efficiency by maximizing production, controlling costs, marketing, building a clientele and establishing solid employee relationships.
• Direct and schedule activities of all staff
• Forecast goals and objectives for the department and endeavor to meet them
• Monitor the flow of work in the service department and intervene as required to ensure the work is completed properly.
• Comprehend, keep current and comply with laws that affect service operations
• Keep abreast of new equipment and tools and recommend purchases
• Observe, repair, order trends, such as number of repair orders completed, number of items per repair order, dollar sales per repair order and dollar sales per Service Advisor
• Establish processes and standards to ensure customer satisfaction and efficient operation
• Review completed jobs for quality control purposes
• Hire, educate, motivate, guide and evaluate performance of service department staff
• Provide technical knowledge to employees, as required
• Ensure staff compliance with required health and safety regulations
