The Aurora College Teacher Education three-year diploma program is designed to provide, within the NWT an opportunity for northern residents to enter the teaching profession through full-time/part-time campus and community based programs. The goal of the program is to train both unilingual and bilingual elementary teachers to meet the educational needs in the NWT.
Courses have been critically selected to ensure the inclusion of Aboriginal content as well as effective teaching techniques.
The program is designed to be delivered over a three-year period and will consist of course work and internships. There is an opportunity for part-time students to complete the program over a longer period of time.
