Product Specialist - Surface Drilling (Former Employee) –  Greater Sudbury, ON7 May 2015
While the Canadian management team was very clicky and formed an "old boys club" the rest of the management team was good. The company went to far lengths to look after there employees. The company had great training and expected its employees to be very technically competant.

Us vs Them
CNC Machinist (Former Employee) –  North Bay, ON11 June 2013
The union stands up for employees and the office hates that so it becomes very two faced very quickly. Everyone is always worried about the next layoff, you will be worked like dogs doing tons of overtime then the next week laid off with no warning. this happens every 4 years, it is a predictable cycle of over working people then sacking them. A decent company would be able to figure out scheduling to avoid these cycles but instead they simply keep hiring and laying off.
They don't care about you no matter what they tell you don't fall for it!
Pros
benefit package, so so pay, not much is expceted of you
Cons
shift rotation, boring work, infighting, lay offs, impossible to move ahead

Logistics Administrator (Former Employee) –  Zimbabwwe23 June 2015
It is wonderful working at Atlas Copco as it is a Multi-national company, most employees get the chance to visit other countries to share knowledge.

This company gives back to the community as part of its corporate social responsibility and employees take part in such projects.

Employees are treated as partners to the business, recognition is given where ever it is due.
Pros
Subsidised lunches, medical Aid and Funeral Policy. Annual bonus.
Cons
At times there are long working hours

HOSE TECHNICIAN (Former Employee) –  Obuasi, Ashanti8 August 2012
8 hours at work, every week-end is off duty, unless there are breakdowns, then there will be call ups for overtime. jobs carried out underground, are always supposed to be completed before we surface, even if it has to take 2 days.
when it comes to hose making too, one has to manually lift heavy rolled hoses to a cutting machine, no-matter how big or heavy they are.
Pros
lunch allowance paid, free transportation, rent allowance paid, performance bonusses paid etc.
Cons
sometimes, one has to follow-up on entitlements before they are paid
