Hiring; Human Resources Coordinator (One year Maternity Leave Position)

(AGD) is a 100% Newfoundland and Labrador (NL) privately owned and operated Wholesale distributor located in Bay Roberts with a smaller operation on the West Coast in Port aux Basques. Currently Hiring: AGD has a one year, full time Maternity Position opening for a Human Resources Coordinator. The desired individual will hold a Human Resources Diploma and equivalent years of training and experience.

Requirements:

  • Human Resources Diploma
  • Experience in a Human Resources Position
  • Three references (Previous Employers)
  • Certificate of Conduct

Skills and Specifications:

  • Able to work independently on a broad variety of projects
  • Able to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with employees, co-workers and management
  • Able to deliver effective results, multi-task, meet tight deadlines and targets
  • Good judgment and decision¬ making skills
  • Able to motivate and empower others to reach organizational goals
  • Knowledge of principles, practices and standards of human resource administration
  • Exceptional computer Skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Excellent communication Skills
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Attention to accuracy and detail
  • Analytical thinker

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advertising, recruiting, and evaluating applicants
  • Administrating interviews (initial and exit), reference checks, criminal record checks, testing
  • Maintain employee personnel confidential files
  • Maintain employee vacation schedule, personal contact information
  • Establishing, organizing and supervising the maintenance of department records, ensuring complete accuracy and confidentiality
  • Organizing, managing, coordinating, and directing the operations and functions of personnel
  • Identifying, reviewing, and advising on tasks related to recruitment process and employment strategies to meet human resources requirements
  • Assisting in any other tasks as assigned, responsible for the Powell Group of Companies (Including; Atlantic Grocery Distributors, Powell’s Supermarkets, Dave’s Service Centre, Golden Crust Bakery, Atlantic’s Best)
