AskMen is looking for an experienced editor to helm our News Desk. You'll be working closely with a team of writers, our marketing and social media teams and senior staff. You must be able to quickly identify stories that are relevant right now -- you'll be driving the conversation, not responding to it. You should be a strong writer who is able to set and adhere to tight deadlines on your own. Ideal candidates should also have the flexibility, confidence and creativity to evolve the position as they see fit.
-Pinpoint developing stories that are suitable for the AskMen audience
-Identify and exploit trending topics on social media
-Write and fact-check several pieces of content per day
-Update calendar of upcoming newsworthy events/milestones
-Manage a team of writers
-Minimum 18 months in an editorial position, or a strong background in news reporting
-Willingness to work flexible hours
-Strong connections in media
-Knowledge of all social media platforms, Photoshop and content-management systems
-Obsession with pop culture and current events
Salary: Competitive salary TBD, will depend on qualifications
