We are looking for hands-on Suspervisor who will plan, direct, coordinate, control and measure activities of a team. This position’s span of control may be up to 24-36 people.


Works with Client representatives to ensure on time delivery and execution of scheduled orders

  • Coordinates labour requirements based on standard work and scheduling requirements
  • Ensures layout and setup of area to include ALL work station distribution elements, labor balancing, equipment needs and incoming and outgoing material flow
  • Accountable for Production
  • Ensures standard work procedures for operators and material handlers are being followed
  • Builds quality into all aspects of work
  • Accountable to follow all policies and procedures defined in the company quality systems
  • Ensures All materials are staged and accounted for before order process begins
  • Ensures outgoing finished goods reaches warehouse / shipping department to ensure on time delivery
  • Accountable for effectiveness of employees training
  • Works with Section Manager / Department Manager to develop improvement ideas that supports business objectives
  • Leads and drives continuous improvement
  • Responsible and accountable for root cause and corrective action for KPI target misses and other production related issues
  • Ensures 5S standard for the department section is being met
  • Maintains time and production records while ensuring ALL labor is scanned on correct job
  • Ensures that all business transactions are being completed accurately and on time
  • Communicates all development / performance items to Production Manager
  • Maintains positive employee relationships with Team members

Skills Required

  • A minimum High school diploma and Post-Secondary education required; or any combination of education and equivalent experience
  • 2 years of experience in a leadership role preferred
  • Positive employee relations skills and experience training and developing teams
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Computer literacy with MS Word, Excel, Outlook – basic to intermediate level
  • Must be available to work extra hours to meet production deadlines as required
  • Experience leading between 20-30 direct and in-direct employees an asset
  • Must have a strong sense of urgency
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills
  • 5S experience an asset
  • A solid understanding of Health & Safety regulations
  • Experience, developing employees, conducting Performance Appraisals and delivering feedback is also an asset
