Seasonal Stock Associate (Former Employee) –  Scarborough, Canterbury7 September 2017
The job mainly consists of changing prices, folding clothes and making sure that the store is clean and organized. I worked a lot of hours after closing, helping them set up for the next day.

Excellent manager. Worked as a seasonal shift merchandise and learned how to managed stocks. Learned about tagged price tag, review stock items, arranged the stocks into an area. Divided few people into a group for each section. There was no hardest part of the job as if there is any questions, free to asked the manager in store. Most enjoying store i worked at.

Great place for Aritzia lifers. Merit-based but also favouritism exists. Leadership is inconsistent; some inspiring some intimidating.
Operations Analyst (Former Employee) –  Vancouver, BC6 September 2017
Great place to work if you grew up in Aritzia and are a "lifer". It is merit based, so it doesn't matter how old you are as long as you are driven and good at what you do. Although, there is definitely favouritism that exists.

There is an Aritzia way of doing things and if you come in externally, it can be hard to adapt and "fit in". Some leaders and management are amazing and inspiring, and some are intimidating and rude. There are inconsistencies in leadership.

It's a cult-like culture which is amazing for those who fit right into that culture however for those who don't fit into that type, it is not the best place.
Pros
Cool building, lunch vendors that come in every day, discount on clothes
Cons
Inconsistent leadership, unfriendly culture overall

Distrubution Centre Trainer (Current Employee) –  Burnaby, BC20 August 2017
Great place to work if you know someone there to help you get ahead. Or you can go what most girls do and sleep with a supervisor you'll def get ahead that way.
But if you went to school for a related field and work hard be prepared to be overlooked for a pretty, young thing.
Pros
Good student work if you just want to clock in and out
Cons
You are not valued in this company

Support Office (Former Employee) –  Vancouver, BC27 July 2017
If you always wanted to live the movie Heathers, Mean Girls or wish you could've worked for Enron - this is the place for you!

Financial data to drive well rounded/sound business decisions not readily shared. Long hours due to short staff and very contrived decision making process.

Would not recommend this place to anyone that is friendly, likes to collaborate with the cross-functional team, enjoys work-life balance or feel empowered.

Merchandise Manager and Floor Manager (Former Employee) –  Vancouver, BC21 July 2017
Very poor work life balance along with fear based leadership made experience difficult. Work always had to come first, especially in management roles. Training was very good and very positive and taught me a lot of skills

For a first retail job... It was as fun as it could be!
Seasonal Employee (Current Employee) –  Oshawa, ON28 June 2017
Always a positive environment! Never had any issues with any of the other full time employees or management. Learned some great ways to fold clothes and how to keep the store neat! Loved the fact that no matter the sale, no matter how busy the store was it was never a mess!
Pros
Great employees, and management. Decent pay. Great experience for a first retail job.
Cons
Seasonal hours are not the greatest, but for a full time student they were kind of great.

Internal development is a priority
Warehouse Supervisor (Former Employee) –  Burnaby, BC14 June 2017
The work hours as a supervisor were inconsistent. If it's busy you are expected to stay which makes sense but when it is slow there is no reciprocation as well as the contracted 45 hour work week. Duties are highly distributed out with little cross department learning and brainstorming. They are very committed to promoting from within which is good to build team morale.
Pros
Internal advancement oportunities
Cons
Mixed priorities and messaging

Busy work environment
Style Advisor (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ON23 May 2017
A typical day at work: Aritzia has a very competitive work environment, especially working as a sales associate or style advisor. Therefore, it is very busy and it is important to be able to multi task and work efficiently.

What you learned: To multitask, cliental and service customers efficiently, work in a team setting.

Management: Management is very efficient and focuses on efficiency and work ethic. They can be strict, however they are very caring.

Workplace culture: Workplace culture is diverse and very friendly.

The hardest part of the job: The hardest part of the job would have to be to maintain a high, consistent sph (sales per hour). This is a very important aspect of the job.

The most enjoyable part of the job: This would have to be working with a great team, that is very happy and upbeat. Passionate about driving sales and working together in a team setting.
Pros
Great work environment, great co-workers and team environment
Cons
Very competitive and high sale expectations

Fun workplace and brings great personal development
Lead Shipper & Receiver (Former Employee) –  Thornhill, ON19 May 2017
An environment that will grow you to become the person you are today. The personal development made here, being employed by this company is very difficult to describe with words, it's more of a do it yourself experience, and you will understand how from your first day working with the company, and how different you are after a couple years.
Pros
great team
Cons
long hours and you rarely finish on the exact finish time that founded on your schedule
