Job Summary

Logistics (Freight) Coordinator- Transportation solutions is to respond to customer demands that are urgent and short term in a nature by providing transportation solutions (Intra-US, intra-Canadian and cross border common carrier) and /or specialized equipment (i.e. flat deck operations)

Responsibilities

- Utilize and manage the load link system to select carrier and send dispatch communication
- Negotiate pricing with both customers and carriers
- Secure shipments and source carriers
- Provide rates to customers for regular business in form of rate proposals
- Track, record and follow up on detailed information regarding vendor capabilities and customer requirments
- Set up and confirm all carriers in accordance with compliance programs
- Audit freight bill for correct rate and accurate accesorial charges including fuel surcharge
- Collaborate and offers assistance to other team members in delivering optimal transportation service solutions
- Perform any other reasonable duties assigned or directed by management as necessary

Requirments

- University degree or college diploma in Busines or Transportation/Logistics or the equivalent combination of education and experience
-3+ years of experience in the Transportation/Logistics industry
- Strong customer relations ability/expereince with analytical and technical skills that can be utilized to produce creative ideas/solutions
- Computer literate in Microsot Office. Data entry skills and experience
- Truckmate, PC Miler and Loadlink is an asset
- Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Demostrated organizational and priorization skills to meet deadlines
-Must know how to handle people, be personable, well organized and detail oriented. Must maintain professional demeanor under heavy work load or stressful situations
