Great company to work in. The culture is has improved over the years to be more development centric and quality driven. The workplace promotes a family culture. As apotex is a privately owned company. decent work hours depending on the department and decent salary and benefits. Job stability is its strongest suit and it believes in the potential capabilities of every individual.

Core company values are great; paid lunch breaks, decent vacation/sick days, health benefits are a little above average and include RSP matching PLUS 1% from the company, long and short term disability plans, prescription, dental, vision. The pay is supposedly competitive, but most pharma companies pay more. Where this company really lacks, is the culture. There are no company events (not even a Christmas party), no amenities in the buildings, really not much in terms of getting employees to socialize or get engaged.

The work culture is very dreadful and often they will give impossible tasks, almost as if they were purposely making a project and giving us improper deadlines.
Apotex is really going downhill. They have the mentality of working cheaper and not checking proper guidelines, leading to many lawsuits against them in the news, such as with Servier - not to mention Apotex also made birth control pills that didn't work properly. You can find this info publicly in the news.
They've been doing massive layoffs and have been trying to hire fresh out of university graduates for people who have worked here for 5-10 yrs. As a result you see many, many mistakes being made and the quality of everything pretty much going down.

Director of Engineering & Maintenance (Former Employee) – Toronto, ON – 8 May 2017
A fast paced environment with great deal on ongoing challenges. People work well together. My team consisting of 4 managers and over 100 supervisory and hourly staff are dynamic and fully engaged. Ongoing dealing with FDA and internal audits mean the need to be cohesive with all department
