Manufacturing Coordinator – Job Description

Title: Manufacturing Coordinator

Summary

The Industrial Engineer will be responsible for the coordination of work to ensure the successful completion of production schedules and shipments in pursuance of business goals. The Industrial Engineer will work closely with purchasing, production and shipping to ensure client orders are met within the given timeframe. Through the effective management of targets, goals and production efficiencies, the Industrial Engineer will ensure the ongoing success of the production team. The Industrial Engineer will improve throughput and other in-house processes with the objective of reducing overall costs and enhancing customer satisfaction.

Job Duties
Assist in the coordination of production schedules.
Monitor the performance of production employees.
Maintain a safe, clean and legally compliant workplace.
Identify, investigate, correct and document potential production problems.
Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities, with purchasing, production and shipping departments.
Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.
Provide information for production plans to ensure that production objectives are met.
Ensure product quality.
Motivate members through the setting of clear expectations.
Coordinate with other supervisors, leads, and managers to obtain maximum use of resources.
Plan for manpower and equipment needs.
Ensure compliance with company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery.
Manage material requirements to increase inventory turns and reduce levels on hand.
Provide leadership for problem and conflict resolution.
Identify and determine quality and productivity related problems and solutions.
Coordinate and oversee employee work assignments and special projects.
Maintain and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Perform other tasks as may be assigned.

Requirements
Minimum 3 years of direct work experience in manufacturing environment.
Direct knowledge of metal working manufacturing methodologies an asset.
Must possess excellent communication skills for liaising and communicating with vendors, customers, and internal departments.
Excellent knowledge of Six Sigma techniques, Kaizen, and Lean Manufacturing.
Should have a good working knowledge of QS-9000 and ISO 9000 systems.
Highly capable of multi-tasking, with minimal supervision.
Able to interface directly with cross functional teams.
Proven problem identification skills.
High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite.
A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
Bilingualism would be an asset

Education: University Degree.

Work Conditions
Interacts with management, colleagues, visitors, government agencies/personnel.
Ability to attend and conduct presentations.
