Customer Service Representative (Former Employee), Oklahoma City – May 25, 2013
AOL was a fantastic place to work. The job its self was extremely easy and the bonuses were great! There was no job security because every other week they were discussing closing down, which eventually happened
Retention Agent (Former Employee), Dulles – April 16, 2013
worked in a department where we were put in the bottom corner of the building, and basically left to rot. No management, or anyone ever came down to talk to us. We did our job and then were let go without any opportunity to even meet anyone for advancement. Worst job experience I've had in 15 years of work, and 15 other people would agree exactly on – more... this. Highly do not recommend this place for anyone. – less
Technical Support Executive (Former Employee), Bangalore,KA – April 3, 2013
Pros: fish philosphy
Cons: us shift
As the title suggests the most enjoyable part of the job would be at early morning 3-4, where all the floor walkers will wear a cap and come into the floor with a big bottle of chocolates. After every call we take, we will have to raise our hands which will yield us a chocolate. After an one hour, by 4 am, the floor walker will come around and check – more... who has got the maximum number of chocolate wrappers will get an on the spot goodie. This use make all of us long for the calls during last one hour of our shift. Especially in US shift when everybody would be tired with low energy will be motivated to take more calls with high enthusiasm. – less
Retention Agent (Former Employee), Albuquerque, NM – March 22, 2013
Received calls from members desiring to cancel their membership. My task was to convince member to keep their membership active. Learned to manipulate and strong-arm clients to retain account. Compensated well for this dubious skill. This ultimately proved too difficult for my conscience.
Store Manager / Sales & Billing (Former Employee), Oklahoma City, OK – March 6, 2013
Pros: great pay and benefits. great employees and staff !!
Cons: call center closed
Was Manager at the OKC Call Center. Benefits were Great and Bonuses was structured to make alot more than your regular pay. Unfortunately the call center closed due to shipping jobs overseas. The company no longer has call center in the U.S. If you wanted to work overtime, then you can work as much as you wanted.
Windows Beta Coordinator (Former Employee), Herndon, VA – February 28, 2013
This was such a fun, educational place to work. Though, towards the end, the lay-offs and other silly moves by upper-management made it stressful. That being said, there was nothing more amazing than being a part of that company during its multi-million user growth spurts.
Cons: call center was shut down entirely so no longer exists
Handled cancelation calls for the AOL retention department. Retained customers through the use of technical support, educating customers on the AOL product highlighting benefits, and solution selling through probing.
