We are recruiting for a Field Marketing Specialist to work with a leading agency in the sponsorship and experiential marketing arena. The company is young and dynamic with a strong entrepreneurial spirit.

Job Summary:
Successful Field Marketing Specialist (FMS) candidates will be provided with a defined territory and existing account list, and will be working with retailers and other key stakeholders within a specific territory. The FMS is responsible for managing in-store merchandising and promotional activities, sales and product training, and executing field marketing initiatives (including event execution) with excellence and in accordance with our technology client’s overarching in-store promotional sales and marketing plan. Above all, the FMS brings strong retail and execution skills which will contribute to successfully implementing a best-in-class in-store marketing system for the client’s brand, while positively engaging in-field with Retail Sales Associates (RSA’s), Retail Sales Outlet’s (RSO’s) and consumers on a daily basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Focus on Product Sell-Through using the following tactics:
  • Lead, participate-in and support our technology client’s in-field sales and marketing activities
  • Plan and execute store visits in RSO’s such as Best Buy, Future Shop, Sears etc… within a specific geographical territory
  • Use specific product expertise to train RSAs on new and established Home Appliance, Home Entertainment and Mobile Communications product; converting RSA’s from product experts into brand ambassadors
  • In-store merchandising, including product and display hygiene
  • Monitoring and maintaining display and price audits; including installations, troubleshooting vendor displays and switching POP materials
  • Fostering positive store and consumer relationships
  • Becoming the RSA’s first point of contact for questions, training, merchandising questions
  • Executing in-store product demonstrations and sales assists
  • Competitive analysis and market trend research
  • Monitor competitor’s in-field performance and make recommendations on future programs and initiatives
  • Management of the brand’s Merchandising team; monitoring and managing in-field activities, providing the team with required tools, resources, information and follow-up
  • Focus on increasing brand awareness in the community through various traditional and non-traditional methods
  • Plan and execute field marketing activities within approved budgets, volume/frequency, product mix and time frames
  • Sponsor/create/partner with brand activations at the retail level, and at community-based events. Create and manage strategic partnerships and alliances
  • Develop concepts for in-field activation and promotions on a local level
  • Execute in-store & consumer promotions, ensuring positive product representation
  • Lead and manage promotional giveaway materials
  • Reporting: consolidating merchandising reports, salesforce.com, activation reports including strategic planning and feedback
  • Submit timely reports to Area Manager
  • Budget management
  • People management: Brand ambassadors and/or merchandisers; including recruiting, training, scheduling
  • Equipment maintenance and care: vehicle, trailers, electronics, etc…
  • Regular communication with the greater team
  • Liaise and attend meetings with in-field marketing manager team, client team, RSO and RSA teams and relevant influencers in the community
  • Attend and facilitate (as appropriate) all status meetings and calls (internal or external)
  • Attend required training sessions to develop relevant knowledge and skills
  • Sundry duties as assigned

Academic/Educational Requirements:

  • Business or Marketing degree an asset
  • Previous experience in sales, customer service, marketing, field marketing or brand promotions an asset

  • Interest in technology, customer service, partnerships, marketing (ATL & BTL), retail
  • Proven track record building and maintaining relationships
