Our downtown Toronto law firm specializes in civil litigation with an emphasis on motor vehicle and slip and fall accidents. Our firm is looking for an intermediate level legal assistant with 3 to 5 years experience in personal injury matters to work with our team on a full-time basis beginning August 20, 2012. The ideal candidate will:

Have considerable experience working in personal injury litigation;
have knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure;
possess superior analytical and organizational abilities;
have exceptional ability to effectively manage multiple priorities;
will be time conscious and deadline oriented;
have the ability to work independently with little supervision;
will work as part of a team.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

Preparation and processing of legal documents such as Statements of Claims and Motions;
complete various forms such as Applications for Mediation;
transcribe dictation to draft and type legal correspondence and office memos;
assist lawyers in collecting information such as employment, medical and other records as they pertain to clients;
mail, fax or arrange for delivery of legal correspondence to clients, court officials and legal firms;
receive and make phone calls to legal assistants, lawyers and clients;
make photocopies of correspondence, documents and other printed matter.
