More good than bad.
Pros: banking overtime, dedication to safety, operations and maintenance crews are dedicated
Cons: purchasing convoluted, expected accountability is beyond what is in your control
A dedicated crew of both union and lower management, the company has a great base. The middle management focus tries to balance things, but upper management do not seem connected to reality both in the plant and in the world around them. They are too far isolated with few visits to the plant, a lack of contact one-on-one with the workers and an office that is about 1/3 kilometer away from the plant itself. They work in ideal world scenarios not recognizing that the plant is aged beyond its expected life cycle. Purchasing was a roadblock as well, not understanding how their choice to re-route or reject things effects the plant and not willing to listen when it is explained to them. A previous president had habit of coming into boardrooms to express discontent and discipline people in public shamings and that set a precident that made management an uncomfortable role to be in.
Great programs, all are in place to make it world class and if they are used to maximum benefit, the plant would be a top notch place to be. Overall, it is no worse than other plants and has good bones to work improvement in.
