All Design and Tool manufactures small assembly and turnkey automation cells and is located in Kitchener, Ontario. AD&T is looking for an individual to provide application engineering, as well as design and detailing. Some travel will be required. The job will involve communications with the customer on a regular basis.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage existing client relationships
  • Build relationships within customer organizations at all levels
  • Gather pertinent information on customer needs and competition and utilize the information to guide All Design and Tool resources to increase success
  • Negotiate scope, payment terms, timing with customer technical, purchasing and management staff
  • Frequently communicate with all active customers
  • Review customer drawings, CAD, RFQ and specifications
  • Develop sound technical concepts for automated assembly machines (AutoCAD, Solidworks)
  • Prepare estimates using All Design and Tool templates (Excel)
  • Develop cycle time analysis using All Design and Toll or customer templates
  • Prepare detailed written proposals
  • Present technical concepts to customer staff and utilize feedback to improve offering
  • Present won projects to All Design and Tool team and clarify technical scope
  • Design the layout, detailed drawings and schematics for our custom equipment
  • Modeling new designs of machinery for the purpose of production
  • Build relationships with suppliers and handle purchasing related tasks
  • Make and maintain parts list using Excel
  • Partner with production team to build quality equipment on schedule

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Post-secondary diploma/degree preferred
  • 5+ years in applications/design engineering role
  • Effective communicator with written and oral proficiency in English
  • Experience in the automation industry required.
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and CAD (AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks) proficiency required
