Algoma University is committed to providing an inclusive, respectful and welcoming educational environment for Anishinaabe (First Nations, Métis and Inuit) students.
In 2006, Algoma University acknowledged this commitment by signing a Covenant with the Shingwauk Education Trust. This Covenant, witnessed by the then National Chief Phil Fontaine and others, articulates a promise by Algoma University to support the creation of Shingwauk Kinoomaage Gamig, which will share the campus and provide unique educational programming from an Anishinaabe world view. Algoma University is committed to our special mission to "cultivate cross-cultural learning between Aboriginal communities and other communities." – less–ZoomInfo
