Are you a registered nurse with expertise in the area of acute and ambulatory care? If so the Acute and Emergency Services Branch of the Primary Health Care Division has the perfect role for you.

Working within a team of professionals you will be responsible for assisting in quality improvement activities and projects that will support the implementation of the Access to Health Services Plan for the health system, with a focus on accountability and quality improvement projects in the acute and ambulatory care sectors of the health system in Alberta.

Included within your duties would be the development of policies in regard to any health programs or strategies related to the enhancement of acute and ambulatory care sector. You will work both with internal and external stakeholders to provide recommendations and advice regarding provincial policies related to acute and ambulatory care in Alberta.

As the successful candidate you will have widespread clinical knowledge in the area of acute and ambulatory care, as well as excellent analytical, organizational and project management skills. You will be able to communicate complex issues and processes effectively, both verbally and in writing. You will use exceptional critical thinking skills to research, analyze and advise internal and external contacts on programs, policies and emerging issues. Strong relationship building skills will also be critical to your success.

Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Master's preferred) plus 4 years of related nursing experience in an acute and ambulatory care environment is required. Active registration with the College and Association of Registered Nurses in Alberta is required. Knowledge of project management, policy development and program planning is preferred. Experience in quality improvement activities would be an asset.

Salary: $3,060.71 - $3,898.45 bi-weekly ($79,884 - $101,749 per annum) Closing Date: July 10, 2013. Job ID #1017886.
