Fun but low pay

Staff is fun but pay is far low too low for amount of work. Management is strict and says one thing but doesn't always follow through. Had to fight with HR a bunch of times about proper pay.

Only for aviation enthusiasts

Nice place to work if you are passionated by aviation, not very concerned about money, and ready to lift heavy bags despite rain, snow, hail, wind, heat, very cold...

Advantages:
- easy to get hired as a ramp agent, and then to evolve to crew chief due to high turn over
- high security standards on the job (compared to other handling companies)
- Westjet benefits after 3 months
- various shifts in part or full time to fit your schedule
- easy shifts trading
- 'paid' workout as duties are mainly physical
- training provided all along the career with possibility to be signed off on a variety of equipments / vehicles / procedures (marshalling, towing, water servicing etc.)

Disadvantages:
- very low wage (just above the minimum)
- hard and physical job (stacking bags in the pits with low clearance, working on apron whatever the weather conditions)
- only 1 manager seems to have human qualities and care about the employees, others will be either condescendant or yell at you for any reason
- Union will not help you in case of disagreement, despite the 35$ biweekly deducted from salary

We would load the planes with the customers luggage and unload. Then change the water in the planes and clean them over night. we had to learn hand signals to communicate.

If you have no other dedications to your daily life, then this job is for you. People working at the airport have their lives around the airport schedule. ATS provides hours if that is what you are looking for. Vending machine to purchase snacks and drinks available in the break room for $1.

Place to start to work on airports

The pay is really low, you start with $11.30/hour, people come and go as they find higher paying positions. The higher management expects underpaid workers to play around with jet planes that cost millions of dollars. Work is hard, not for the weak ones. Summer, winter, cold, hot, rain, snow, -45 windchill, etc. This job is only for people who really like to work on airports and need the money. Middle-level management is okay, they understand the workers but can't do much about the pay.

Working outside, physical work (instead of a gym), fun for people who like airports, lots of overtime

Low salary, high staff turnover, high management doesn't care about employees

This is a position almost anyone can do with little to no experience in the airline industry. The hours are long though the amount of work that had to be done varies depending on which crew your on and what the season is. The job culture around this company is frustrating because if you are someone who is new to the industry they don't shadow you as well as other employers. Don't apply to work here unless it's something you enjoy or are familiar with the industry.

There is so much turnover here which means you get little to no training, no support from management, and are expected to do everything by yourself. Very stressful and not worth the pay.

Terrible management. You could never ask management to do something in person because it will never get done. Instead, you would have to write an email and still wait 3 weeks for something to get done.
They will do everything in their power to not pay what is owed to you.
Best part about it are the other ramp agents that are having the same issues as you.

You work there full time and they label you as part time so they don't have to give you benefits.

Work for Air Canada, Executive Flight Center or Swissport instead.
Turnover rate is very high since they are incapable of keeping employees. Plus, the pay is not good for what you do at all.

Management at ATS will harass and threaten long time serving employees until they eventually give up and quit. Working at ATS is a living nightmare and the pay isn't worth it.

You're not allowed any time off, and when you give a schedule, just so you'll quit, they put you working days you needed off. You're scheduled for 10 and a half hours, you only get paid for 8, but you're told to sit there in the office in the dark, because the supervisor doesn't want to waste energy. Only to turn around and say you do nothing at work.

Management took from you easily but when you needed them to do their job they hid from that opportunity. Labor staff was great though, some bad apples in the bunch as per usual.

La directions chez ATS , doit etre changer au complet, toute les equipement son vieux et brise regulierement, comparer a air canada, a air crebec et d'autre gros companie ATS a beaucoup a apprendre . il traite les employer vraiment mal, je peux vous garantir que je suis pas le seul a vous le dire, je vous conseil meme d'aller faire un tour vous aller voir vous meme . Je suis sur qu'on et la seul ATS comme sa, toute depend de la direction . le notre son mal organizer .
