It is an ok place to work
Account Manager (Current Employee), Baton Rouge, LA – February 8, 2013
setting appointment, contacting old account and turning into revenue/
scheduling meeting, I learned how to quote prices and make proposal, accumulate contacts, my co-workers were great but not everyone wants to help like they say they do. the most enjoyable part was to help my clients achieve maximum production by providing them with Generators, Chillers, – more... A/C, Oil free air, and much more. and therefore maximum bottom line. – less

worse place I have ever worked at
Tech (Former Employee), Lake Charles, LA – December 18, 2012
Pros: decent pay
Cons: management problems
The way the infrastructure is ran at this location is beyond comprehension. No clear direction from management what is expected out of you, ill defined job duties. You hire on to do one thing and they want you to do something that is not related to your job. The manager has never done this type of work before, so there is a complete disconnect of what – more... goes on in the field and shop. Management has no comprehension on how to manage money or balance a budget properly, they expect the techs to do that for them. They shuffle people around everyday so you do different things everyday weather you finish your job or not, you jst end up doing someone else job. The manager will not take responsibility for his own decisions he makes. Poor job planning and bidding from management, which leads to wasting time and money. Manager can not handle some one with experience questioning his incompetence. The foreman has been there 11 years and still has the knowledge of someone with 1 year experience and thinks there is still a learning curve for him. Over all the company itself is good. – less

Get ready to make your job your hobby
Administrative (Former Employee), Lousiana – December 8, 2012
Pros: good benefits
Cons: work is expected to be your first priority
If the most important aspect of you life is your job, then you will enjoy working here. Unfortunately, management in the invoicing- finance function does not have the ability to make tough decisions which would allow for a more rewarding career. Instead, they allow employees to "tread water". Due to not addressing obvious management issues, clerical – more... employees are made to work harder and are under appreciated. Unless the postion that you are applying for is upper, upper management, be prepared for a very rough ride. – less

Demanding with no work life balance
Service Technician (Former Employee), Pearland TX – December 5, 2012
Pros: lots of overtime
Cons: work life balance, never at home at night
Aggreko was not a job it was a way of life. A career is supposed to be something youre passionate about, not necessarily a job where you just watch your life fly by you without being able to stop. No Possibility for advancement unless you have a bachelors. Pretty good benefits, management at every service center was different, overall pretty good. Lots – more... of overtime which doubled my salary. – less

fast pace strict shop
Gen tech (Current Employee), denver – December 2, 2012
Pros: company vehicle
Cons: long hours and high demand of free time always on call
never had a typical day. would show up to work sometimes with no idea what needed to be done. some days I would be in the shop. some days I would be in the field. I had good co-workers but I think the management was lacking. for the most part we worked individually with no supervision. The hardest part of the job was not knowing what to expect some – more... days we would work 8hrs some days 14-20hrs a day but it was never planed. I liked the travel and dealing with customers. – less

Tech (Current Employee), Lake Charles – October 8, 2012
Pros: company truck
Cons: way too many to list
They wait till last minute to tell you you'll be workin a ton of overtime the management sucks micromanage is an understatement the foreman is a joke and inventory control man is lazy but management makes everyone else do his job

Don't work here unless you like drama and doing others work for them for pitiful pay

the most enjoyable part of the job
IT Senior Analyst (Current Employee), Dubai – August 2, 2012
The people are very genial and helpful. I enjoyed Project management deploying IT solutions to offices and sites in various countries from Asia, Middle East, Africa and Central America. I learned about so many people's cultures and had insights into their way of life. It was a wonderful experience.

Enjoyable, but over staffed
Stocks Operative (Former Employee), Dumbarton – June 14, 2012
Pros: fairly active work
Cons: long hours, commute distance, aforementioned constant tension in the workplace
There always appeared to be tension between each of the different groups of workers, which meant that, ultimately, if you worked in Stocks, you would only ever socialise with those you actually worked beside.

I learned how to operate a now, fairly dated but still relevant, database, and how to correctly and safely handle sharp tools used for opening – more... various shipments.

The hardest part of the job was sorting out the mountains of paperwork that would accompany a large order, but in its own way, this was also the most enjoyable for me, as it required us to input all of our data on the computer at some point, checking our orders against the received shipments. – less
