These UAVs, used by police and military forces as well as civilians, do jobs deemed too risky or dirty for human beings to do in person. We require an exceptional engineering leader who possesses a critical combination of seasoned leadership, technical and management skills. You will lead a high-performing team of hardware, software, and mechanical designers in a dynamic and flexible environment.

You will be accountable for supporting an R&D team and making them successful in delivering quality products in a dynamic growth market. You will own project plans and budgets, ensuring that deadlines and milestones are being achieved. You will work very closely with other department leads as well as vendors and customers to deliver high quality products that meet challenging technical requirements.

Job Description:
Lead, support, and develop a 12-18 member R&D team
Work with the product management team to develop engineering project plans, schedules, and budgets
Execute development plans, ensuring that deadlines and critical milestones are being achieved
Create team objectives, monitor work flow, and help resolve day-to-day development tasks and issues
Champion product development best practices/processes and help evaluate new tools and technologies
Provide ongoing communication with team leads across the company to coordinate efficient use of engineering resources across departments.
Manage relationships with engineering parts vendors and contract resources.
Create hiring plans, participate in the interview process, and make hiring decisions
Monitor the team's performance and participate in coaching and professional development

Required Skills and Experience:
10+ years in product development
5+ years in a management position
Engineering /Computer Science degree or equivalent
Experience with software development and multi-disciplinary engineering design processes
Passion for leading, challenging, and motivating technical developers
