Harmony Court Care Centre in Burnaby is hiring an RN for a full time evening shift Tuesday-Saturday 1500-2300
The Registered Nurse assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care as per standards of practice outlined by CRNBC, current legislative scope of practice, the agreements and policies of the employer as well as, procedures indicated by those we may contract with. The RN works collaboratively with Program Managers, Directors of Care and/or Administrators of care homes as well as their support staff and Care Managers.
*Provides nursing procedures including administration of medications, medical treatments and documented procedures as per provincial regulations and standards of practice
*Completes client or resident assessments and/or subsequent reviews as per company or contract partner procedures and completes Rai assessments,
*Plans and implements health care treatments and interventions and evaluates effectiveness of same,
*Performs and evaluates delegated tasks,
*Ensures residents, clients, family, physicians and/or alternate decision makers are consulted or involved in the development or modification of care treatment plans,
*Ensures pertinent information and significant clinical changes are communicated in a timely manner,
*Reviews pertinent data obtained through investigative procedures and reports and, takes action and/or reports accordingly,
*Maintains and reports indicators to support CQI, risk management and licensing initiatives,
Supports staff through critical debriefing following incidents in care area,
*Initiates outbound referrals as required,
*Supports infection control practices including through education and mentoring of others,
*Reports unsafe and/or hazardous conditions to the Program Manager, DOC and/or Administrator as required,
*May be involved in Health & Safety or other committees,
*May serve as point person for emergency response or evacuation, emergency first aide for staff, clients, residents and related needs,
*Support in client or resident care conferences,
*May include wellness, flu vaccination and related clinics,
*May include medical assessments and drug screening as per AdvoCare procedures and may include on call responsibilities.
*In facility care, the RN serves as clinical lead and mentor for LPN’s, Care Aides and others in a care related role or environment.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
*Clear Criminal Record Check as required by CRNBC,
*Current licensing or registration associated with this discipline,
*Fitness required to complete the duties associated with this job description,
*Vaccinations, TB test and/or x-ray as required by licensing,
*CRC level C,
*Reliable transportation if driving on behalf of a client is a key duty,
*Valid Driver’s License and Vehicle Insurance.
*Registered Nurse diploma or degree though, Registered Psychiatric nurse may be considered,
Gerontology certificate or diploma preferred,
RELATED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
*Maintains personal and professional competency in skills required of a nurse,
*Displays ability and interest to teach and mentor others in capacity of a nurse,
*Dementia and palliative experience preferred and,
*Commitment to lifelong learning, diplomacy and excellent communication skills.
