INTERIOR DESIGNER - Commercial (Cloverdale)
AURA OFFICE ENVIRONMENTS Inc. (www.auraoffice.ca) local affiliate of UNISPACE (www.unispace.com) global COMMERCIAL design-build group, is seeking an experienced, energetic and outgoing intermediate level Interior Designer to join our office in Cloverdale (Surrey) BC. Working effectively with our hand-picked team, you will have excellent technical and interpersonal skills as well as be able to multi-task in an environment with competing priorities.

Responsibilities:
This Intermediate Interior Designer role will be working in a dynamic work environment with a diverse corporate client base. Working closely with clients, project managers, and the design team, you will be involved in all aspects of projects including delivery of quality, inspirational designs, preparing client meeting presentations and documentation, ensuring that the design specifications lead to successful delivery of viable solutions to our valued clients.

Key responsibilities include:
• Provide interior design expertise in a variety of project types including corporate interiors, commercial, education, and industrial
• Be a team player with project management and design staff
• Be a primary client contact on projects
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of construction project costs and project management skills
• Participate in strategic business development
• Advise on approaches to project delivery
• Coordinate closely with Project Managers regarding office production standards, procedures and systems
• Lead in work on design concepts, design development documents or construction documents as required
• Contribute to a culture of team building and continuous improvement
Qualifications:
• Graduate of an accredited interior design or architectural school with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in interior design of commercial and/or institutional projects (retail, hospitality, office, education facilities)
• Registration with IDIBC or ability to register
• Knowledgeable about various materials relating to finishes, furnishings and construction
• Technical proficiency and experience with AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe CS; Revit capability is a definite asset; graphic design excellence and competency in sketch and freehand drawing is an asset
• Thorough knowledge of BC Building Code
• Must be highly effective in interpersonal and written communication with clients and all levels of internal stakeholders ranging from the design team through to internal management
