The Logistics Commercial & Operations Specialist will be part of the Logistics organization and is responsible to work alongside the Project & Procurement team (s) to execute the operational logistics activities for assigned projects as well as a consolidating logistics budgets and forecasts for all projects.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES

  • Logistics execution for assigned projects

o Request for quote (RFQ) to carriers and award transportation to meet project budget and timeline requirements
o Preparation of all related logistics documentation for Inbound/Outbound shipments covering international, trans-border and domestic destinations
o Update and maintain current associated systems (i.e. AS400, ASAP, DST…..)
o Customs clearance and compliance through our brokers

  • Logistics budgets forecasting (Estimate at Completion)

o Reconcile actual costs allocation to respective projects
o Measure all committed costs against actual shipments
o Validate project material left to ship and costs to come with planners
o Prepare data analysis & reports as needed
o Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for further development of EAC / RFQ / Mode analysis tools.

  • Freight Invoicing ( process and control)

o Invoicing processing and coding
o Audit and verification of quotes
o Tracking with Accounts Payable
o Invoice requests/discrepancies

  • Proposal support

o Preparation of transportation budgets for new project proposal team(s)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce – major in accounting an asset;
  • 3-5 years of logistics experience;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Effective communication skills (oral & written in a multi-stakeholder environment);
  • Excellent problem solving skills, sound judgment, initiative & creativity;
  • Fluency in French & English languages;
