A-Supreme Nursing & Homecare Services focuses on being a provider of medical and non-medical services to the elderly or infirm. We support the individual and the family by providing one on one care that is required on a part time, temporary or full time basis. POSITION SUMMARY: To provide a range of personal care and homemaking assistance to vulnerable persons in the community.

  • Encouraging and assisting clients in the following activities of daily living: laundering, shopping, ambulation, personal care, toileting and transferring in accordance with their care plan or as required; building a rapport with clients to facilitate their interactions in their housing environment, and to promote a healthy lifestyle;
  • Supporting the strategies or care plans for maintaining daily activities by providing reminders for medications; maintaining a general awareness of their health condition, identifying issues, noting and communicating incidents to other staff and the Supervisor as required, contacting emergency services for serious or unexpected problems
  • Participating in program meetings and other activities which promote the well-being of the clients and the smooth operation of the program
  • Participating in the administration of the program by completing and maintaining required documentation; participating in team meetings, events and activities; orienting new staff; providing support to colleagues and attending training sessions

1.Certification as a Personal Support Worker, with experience in providing support to a vulnerable client groups;
2.Knowledge is required of the physical, psychological, and other issues faced by vulnerable, frail adults and seniors with special needs, which may include: cognitive impairments, low income and age related challenges
3.The position requires knowledge of the universal precautions required for cleanliness and disinfecting and for the control of the spread of communicable diseases;
4.May perform light cleaning and lifting (e.g. washing floors, dusting, laundry, and transferring clients ) and knowledge of basic health and safety standards is required;
5.Experience in working with limited supervision but as part of a team of health care professionals is needed;
6.Be able to work flexible hours including shift work, weekends and holidays;
7.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential;
8.Current First AID & CPR Certification;
9.Proficient working with computers
10.Current Vulnerable Sector Police check;
11.Fluency in a second language is an asset
12.Access to vehicle preferred
