Food Counter Attendant (Former Employee), Greater Sudbury, ONJuly 22, 2013
Pros: getting all the time off i needed.
Cons: only having one break, no matter how long the shift was.
Everyone was always very friendly, very helpful and always there to lend a hand. This job didn't only teach me everything I needed to know about being a cashier but also helped me figure out who I really am. No matter how busy it got, I had to stay positive and deal with whatever came up. All of my co-workers were like family, after spending such a – more... big amount of time together we all got to know each other really well. – less

Decent High School Part Time Job
Cook (Former Employee), Wetaskiwin, ABJuly 18, 2013
Pros: awesome co-workers
Cons: boring atmosphere
Was an alright job, not for me. People were great, learned how to prepare food with proper sanitation and cleaning. Management was awesome. Hardest part for me would have been speed, if you did not know (I just got the job) speed was difficult at the start. Most enjoyable part would have had to have been the awesome management and co-workers we had.

First Job
Supervisor Responsibilities (Former Employee), Port Aberni BCJune 21, 2013
Pros: got $9.00 free food every shift you work. so if you forgot lunch then you could always order food.
Cons: low wages
A & W was my first job. I started when i was 14 years old. I enjoyed working because it was a good experience. I ended up being promoted to senior supervisor. Which took on a big roll, being the team leader, being responsible for all the cash in and outs, doing daily deposits and some paper work, being able to do every job (cashier , DT, grill, prep – more... work, fryer station ) I was responsible for making sure the resturaunt was opened properly or closed properly. The hardest part of my job was trying to get everyone to take me seriously, lots of my friends also worked there and thought that i would just let them do what they want and get out of the not so fun jobs, ( bathrooms, garbages, doing dishes) but i managed to talk to them as their supervisor and made them realize that i was their supervisor at work and friends outside of work. I believe when you go to work you are there to work, so you try not to bring personal life to work ( not to much anyways). The managmesnt team was pretty good we all tried to work together and be a team. Sometimes there was miss communication, but we had meetings that we would sit down and discuss any problems or good stratigies we had, and learn about promotions and new changes. We did the best we could, and i know that i gave 110% effort into my job. – less

Positive Climate
Supervisor (Former Employee), Hamilton, OntarioMarch 24, 2013
Pros: one free meal
Cons: having to drive to other stores to pick up product, drama between management/staff, double shifts.
Grew a lot from working at A&W, especially as my second job. I climbed from being a regular staff member on cash, to a fully trained Supervisor; able to work any position. There were many lovely people to work with who all helped to improve the quality and climate of the store.
I enjoyed being a Supervisor, especially working my way up. The best part – more... of my job was the hard work and multitasking that kept me moving. The staff were also my favourite part of the job. Their positive outlook and hard work helped improve the store, and helped everyone work harder as a whole. – less
