A&A Trenching is now actively seeking a General Manager. As the General Manager you will report directly to the ownership of A&A Trenching group of companies providing leadership, strategy and vision to the Senior Leadership Team. Predominantly you will manage the planning, development, and direction of the business goals, defining strategic objectives and cascading these objectives to all of the levels of the organization ensuring execution as well as maximization of the profit.

o Act as a navigator and a visionary to build and lead a team of dynamic and innovative professionals.
o Lead the group of senior managers, coaching them and mentoring them towards achieving business goals.
o Managing the workforce by approving headcount increases based on needs and budgets.
o Develop relationship with internal and external clients.

o Develop strong relationships and communication links with key stakeholders such as employees, current clientele and possible potential clients.
o Responsible for implementing business excellence practices.
o Conceptualize and lead A&A Trenching operation in overall by following company policies, guidelines, and goals communicated by the owners.
o Manage financial performance.
o Develop strategies, annual operating plans, annual budgets, while measuring progress on an ongoing basis.
o Ensure business processes, tools, and internal controls to support operations are followed.
o Responsible for optimization of processes and systems.

o Ensure regular communication of business performance against objectives.
o Protect and encourage corporate reputation.
o Promote a friendly climate, good morale and cooperation environment.
o Act as a company’s role model and support the changing culture.
o Visit the field staff and make sure that the company culture reaches them.
o Make sure that the company operates with a spirit of Innovation.
o Assume responsibility for ensuring business compliance with company corporate initiatives and guidelines, including human capital, Operations, health and safety and accounting procedures.
o Drive overall profitability and build sources of growth as well as value creation.
o Take active part in Business Development and Selling efforts by building new customer relationships.
o Communicate any relevant information to project managers and superintendents that is related to budgets and performance
o Provide leadership and strategic direction for the development of the projects.
o Align company values with strategic goals
o Involved in financial planning and decisions as well as meetings with bankers, service providers, and clients.

o Make sure that safety is applied and that the company operates on an efficient and safely manner.
o Follow through with Safety policies.
o Encourage the managers to operate on a time and safely manner.

o Strategic Management skills (Planning, Financial, Analysis, Business development) are required
o Strong team-building and managerial skills.
o Good computer skills.
o Superb relationship development skills, the individual must be able to build bridges with specific people within the organization.
o Previous experience of minimum of 5 years of experience at a Senior/Executive level.
o Eclectic mindset. Having an eclectic background with strong business partnership principles is necessary for the success of the incumbent.
o Strong judgment and strategic thinking would be highly necessary.
o Mental agility with ability to focus on key issues quickly and incisively
o Ability to communicate changes and progress, manage project roll outs in time and budget, manage profit activities among others.

Working Conditions:
o The General Manger will be able to be exposed to several hours of seated work as well as be able to be facing a screen for several hours.

o This position may require office work 80% of the time.
