Position: Business Analyst / Consultant
Reports To: COO

Position Summary:
3esi is a global provider of integrated business planning software for the Upstream Oil and Gas Industry. We are seeking a dynamic Business Consultant to join our North American sales and business consulting team. Business Consultants are energy industry specialists that are involved in a broad spectrum of activities including business development, account and implementation support, project management and relationship building with our customers. If you would like to work on a team committed to quality and innovation, our Calgary office is seeking a Business Consultant due to growth in our US market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clearly articulate value proposition in presentations and demo’s to potential customers and clients
  • Establish, support and enhance client/prospect contacts and relationships to create and expand the revenue-based pipeline of opportunities
  • Build and deliver case studies and workshop cases for our customers
  • Develop domain sales/marketing material required to communicate value proposition to end customers
  • Coordinate with the Account Manager on developing short-term & long-term strategies for assigned accounts.
  • Provide creative, “out of the box”, ideas for generating and expanding opportunities within 3esi accounts
  • Effectively communicate with key internal stakeholders on business issues
  • Develop and lead the execution of campaigns targeted at specific Upstream products and/or solutions
  • Provide business process consulting, training, coaching and/or customer support to end customers on as needed basis
  • Complete data loading and data analysis of customer data during discovery phase of the implementation process

Key Competencies:

  • Extensive knowledge of the Oil & Gas business and work processes
  • Excellent communication skills, and the confidence to communicate effectively at all levels of management
  • Ability to meet with customer-prospects and advance a sales cycle with competence
  • Results Oriented
  • Willing to travel (30%)


  • Minimum of 5 years professional experience in oil and gas industry with knowledge of industry processes and data requirements
  • Experience with oil&gas software technology industry solutions
  • Degree in Engineering, Business Management or equivalent education
  • Previous experience with budgeting, well execution or program management processes will be beneficial
