Job description:
UpLink Communications Inc, an independent provider of wireless, fiber and cable internet services in Southwestern Ontario, is seeking a detail oriented, technically proficient individual to join our team as a Field Technician. The successful candidate will maintain a high quality of service and ensure that the UpLink Communications brand continues to have a positive impact on our customer base.
Primary Responsibilities:
Install, terminate and test network cabling including Cat5e, Cat6 and fiberoptic
Install wireless radio frequency equipment on houses, commercial buildings and towers
Perform and document effective/efficient problem analysis
Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair equipment (hardware and software) to ensure service levels are maintained or exceeded
Coax Cable plant from TAP to Customer Premise Equipment
Requirements:
Knowledge of routers and network routing, wireless frequencies and wifi configuration
Investigative, problem-solving, analysis and troubleshooting skills
Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills and must be able to speak, write and understand English
Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities – and maintain quality of work
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to work at heights & climb towers
Ability to work outdoors in all seasons
Strong customer focus
Bondable
Valid driver’s license and a clean driving abstract (company vehicles provided during work hours)
