About InFocus Film School:

InFocus Film School is an independent film school in the heart of historic Gastown, Vancouver, committed to nurturing the next generation of filmmakers, storytellers, and industry leaders. Through fully hands-on, project-based education, students develop creative autonomy and graduate with the skills and portfolio to launch real careers.

Located in one of the world’s most active film production hubs, we also offer industry-specific training courses for various roles in film and TV production. Our campus is a collaborative environment where innovation and creativity thrive, and our team reflects those same values.

About the Role:

We are looking for a motivated, people-focused Admissions Advisor to join our Vancouver team. In this role, you will be one of the first voices prospective students hear, and one of the most meaningful relationships they have as they explore a career in film, television, animation, or VFX.

You will guide leads through every step of the admissions process, from first inquiry through to enrolment, building genuine connections and helping prospective students match their ambitions to the right program. This is a performance-driven role with real earning potential, structured training, and room to grow within a creative, student-centered organization.

What You Will Do

  • Respond to prospective student inquiries by phone, email, text, and video in a timely, professional, and personable manner
  • Build genuine rapport with leads and guide them through each step of the admissions process, from first contact through to enrolment
  • Conduct admissions consultations and interviews, evaluate program fit, and help prospective students connect their goals to the right InFocus program
  • Provide clear, accurate, and complete information about programs, schedules, tuition, and the student experience
  • Follow up consistently and proactively to move applications forward and meet enrolment targets
  • Support students with application steps, required documents, and next actions
  • Maintain accurate notes, statuses, and activity in internal systems
  • Work closely with finance, student services, and leadership to support enrolment goals
  • Participate in daily team huddles, coaching sessions, and ongoing training
  • Support open houses, information sessions, and recruitment events (occasionally evenings or weekends, approximately 4 to 6 times per year)
  • Represent InFocus Film School with professionalism, energy, and genuine care for the students we serve

What We Are Looking For

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree required.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Admissions and Student Recruitment within a Private Career College is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a student inquiry pipeline, follow up consistently, and meet enrollment targets.
  • High level of ambition, initiative, and professional work ethic.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to confidently engage prospective students by phone, video, email, and in person.
  • Ability to receive coaching, apply feedback, and continuously improve performance.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple applicants, deadlines, and administrative tasks simultaneously.
  • Genuine interest in film, television, VFX, or animation. Industry experience is not required, but enthusiasm for the creative sector is highly valued.
  • Familiarity with the private post-secondary education landscape in British Columbia is an asset.
  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities are considered a strong asset.
  • Must be available to work onsite in Vancouver, BC, Monday to Friday.

Working Conditions

  • Onsite role in Vancouver
  • Monday to Friday schedule, with some evenings and weekends as needed
  • Fast-paced, student-facing environment
  • Training provided
