Full job description

Build Fortius Mechanical Calgary

This isn't a job posting. It's an opportunity to build something of your own.

Fortius Mechanical is a growing commercial mechanical contractor with a strong reputation across Western Canada. We are expanding into the Calgary market and looking for the right person to lead that growth from day one.

We're searching for an entrepreneurial HVAC/R professional who can service equipment, build client relationships, and develop a profitable operation. Someone who wants the freedom and upside of running a business without the financial risk and administrative burden of starting one.

The Opportunity

You will be responsible for establishing and growing Fortius Mechanical's Calgary presence by:

  • Performing commercial HVAC, refrigeration, chiller, and mechanical service work
  • Building relationships with facility managers, property managers, building owners, and general contractors
  • Securing service agreements, maintenance contracts, and project opportunities
  • Managing day-to-day operations in the Calgary market with significant autonomy
  • Helping recruit and build a local team as the business grows

Why This Role Is Different

You won't be joining a large organization as another technician or salesperson.

You'll be the person responsible for building Fortius Calgary.

As the business grows, your role grows with it. The relationships you develop, the accounts you win, and the reputation you establish will directly impact your success and earning potential.

This is an opportunity for someone who has always wanted to run their own operation but prefers to focus on customers, projects, and growth instead of payroll, accounting, insurance, licensing, and administration.

Compensation & Support

  • Competitive base salary matched to union wages
  • 10% share of Calgary net profits
  • Company vehicle
  • Full administrative and operational support
  • Licensing, insurance, accounting, and back-office functions handled by Fortius
  • Union or non-union employment available
  • Clear path to Calgary Operations Manager as the business expands

Who We're Looking For

  • Journeyman Refrigeration, HVAC, or Mechanical Trade certification
  • Minimum 8 years of commercial mechanical experience
  • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, refrigeration, chillers, VRF systems, and building controls
  • Existing relationships within the Calgary commercial market are considered a major asset
  • Proven ability to build trust with customers and generate business opportunities
  • Self-motivated, entrepreneurial mindset
  • Someone who takes ownership and thrives with independence

About Fortius Mechanical

Fortius Mechanical provides commercial HVAC, refrigeration, chiller, VRF, building automation, and mechanical services throughout Western Canada. Our clients include healthcare facilities, municipalities, commercial properties, industrial facilities, and institutional buildings.

We've built our reputation through technical expertise, strong customer relationships, and a commitment to doing things the right way.

Now we're bringing that same approach to Calgary.

If you've ever wanted the rewards of building a business without risking your own capital, this may be the opportunity you've been waiting for.

Pay: $72.29-$78.64 per hour
