Job Description:

Position Summary
Reporting to the Manager, the successful candidate will demonstrate clinical skills and knowledge related to assessment, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care for patients and families in Oncology, Hematology & Nephrology. In keeping with the mission and value statements of the hospital, they will also:
  • Practices according to the standards set by the College of Nurses of Ontario, the Hospital and the Oncology PSU;
  • Provides appropriate learning experiences for the patient and family to promote recovery and wellness;
  • Is accountable for maintaining competence and developing expertise in the quality of his/her professional practice;
  • Effectively uses interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills to facilitate a team environment;
  • Participates in Quality Improvement and Research opportunities.

Qualifications
  • Vulnerable Sector Check (Essential)
  • Current Ontario Registration with the CNO (Essential)
  • Current BCLS certificate (Essential)
  • Two (2) year paediatric experience (Preferred)
  • 6 months of Hematology & Oncology experience (Preferred)
  • Baccalaureate degree in Nursing (Preferred)
  • APHON certification (Preferred)
  • Bilingual (English/French) (Preferred)

Résumé Des Fonctions
Le ou la titulaire relève au gestionnaire. Il ou elle possède les compétences et les connaissances cliniques de l’appréciation, de la planification, de la mise en œuvre et de l’évaluation des soins infirmiers aux patients et aux familles du Service d’oncologie, hématologie et néphrologie. Conformément à la mission et à l’Énoncé des valeurs de l’Hôpital, il ou elle doit :
  • Respecter les normes professionnelles fixées par l’Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers de l’Ontario, par l’Hôpital et par l’USP d’oncologie;
  • Faire part de ses connaissances aux patients et aux familles afin de favoriser leur guérison et leur bien‑être;
  • Assumer le maintien de ses compétences tout en développant la qualité de l’exercice de sa profession de sciences infirmières;
  • Appliquer efficacement son entregent, son aptitude à la communication et son sens de la collaboration pour promouvoir un esprit d’équipe;
  • Participer à des activités de recherche et d’amélioration de la qualité.
Qualifications
  • Vérification des antécédents en vue d’un travail auprès de personnes vulnérables (Essentiel)
  • Adhésion en règle à l’OIIO (Essentiel)
  • Certificat valide de BCLS (Essentiel)
  • eux (2) ans d’expérience pédiatrique (Préférable)
  • Six (6 mois) d’expérience en hématologie et oncologie (Préférable)
  • Baccalauréat en sciences infirmières (Préférable)
  • Infirmier certifié/Infirmière certifiée en hématologie/oncologie pédiatrique (Préférable)
  • Bilinguisme (français et anglais) (Préférable)
  • Veuillez noter que vous serez représenté par l’Association des infirmières et infirmiers de l’Ontario (AIIO).
