We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join our Petrochemicals team in Cornwall, ON.

BASF’s Petrochemical division is the starting point of BASF's petrochemical value creation worldwide, also known as “the heart of the Verbund,” representing the world's largest chemical markets. Together, let us keep the heart beating one creative solution at a time!

In this role, you will oversee the engineering and maintenance departments, inclusive of all capital spend for the site. You will be responsible for change management, contractor safety, process safety, automation security and capital expenditure for the site.

As a Engineering Manager, you create chemistry by...

  • Managing the annual maintenance budget of up to $3M.
  • Creating and implementing site’s long-term capital plan, with an annual spend up to $5M.
  • Maintaining compliance with all environmental, safety, and health requirements.
  • Directly supervising a maintenance supervisor and two engineers.
  • Overseeing third-party engineering and maintenance contractors.
  • Ensuring compliance with all BASF standards, regulations and ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Acting as Deputy Site Manager in the absence of the Site Manager.

If you...

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other related engineering discipline. An advanced degree is encouraged (MSc, MBA, etc).
  • Have a strong understanding of capital planning, maintenance management and project management. A relevant certification (PMP, MMP, CMRP, etc) is encouraged.
  • Have a professional engineer’s license.
  • Have five or more years of leadership experience in a chemical manufacturing facility
