Summary

Job Description – AZ Driver/Escort

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safe Operation: Safely operate tractor-trailers to transport modular home sections, ensuring adherence to all MTO/DOT regulations.
  • Oversized Load Management: Experience with wide loads, permit requirements, and escort coordination is essential.
  • Load Securement: Expertly secure and unsecure modular units to trailers. This requires attention to detail and a commitment to protecting the structure during transit.
  • Pre/Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough vehicle inspections to ensure equipment is road-ready and compliant.
  • Route Planning: Ability to plan routes while accounting for width, height, and weight restrictions.
  • Communication: Coordinate closely with our manufacturing plant team, site foremen, and escort vehicles.

Requirements:

  • Licensure: Valid Class AZ Driver’s License with a clean abstract.
  • Experience: While oversize experience is a bonus, we are actively looking for motivated, entry-level AZ drivers who are eager to master a specialized skill set.
  • Mechanical Aptitude: A basic understanding of truck/trailer mechanics and a "hands-on" approach to problem-solving.
  • Coachability: You are a quick learner who takes direction well from senior drivers and site supervisors.
  • Skillset: Strong spatial awareness and backing skills are non-negotiable.
  • Reliability: You take pride in your equipment, and you show up on time, every time. In this business, the whole crew is waiting on the driver to start the day.
  • Physical Ability: Capable of performing physical tasks related to tarping, chaining, and securing loads in various weather conditions.

Schedule & Work-Life Balance

  • Standard Shift: Monday to Friday (Occasional weekend work may be required based on project deadlines).
  • Travel Requirements: Must be comfortable with out-of-town travel. This includes being away from home for up to 4 consecutive nights (one full week) depending on the job site location.
  • Overtime Availability: Given the nature of oversized hauling (daylight-only movement and weather dependencies), flexibility is key. Overtime pay applies.
  • Accommodations: All hotel and travel expenses are fully covered by the company when you are on the road.
