Join our passionate culinary team at 1948 Bar & Bistro – a vibrant, locally inspired dining experience highlighting fresh seafood, artisanal ingredients, and elevated comfort cuisine. We are currently seeking motivated and detail-oriented Kitchen Staff to fill Line Cook/ Prep Cook combined roles.

Your Role in Our Kitchen: You’ll play a key role in executing a diverse and thoughtfully crafted menu that showcases everything from fresh oysters, seafood, steaks, to pasta, handmade sauces, and decadent desserts.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Line Cook

● Execute and plate dishes with precision across a variety of stations (grill, sauté, fry, cold, salad, etc.)

● Maintain consistency, quality, and timing under pressure during busy service periods

● Ensure cleanliness and organization of your station, including proper food storage and labeling

● Collaborate with kitchen team to uphold a smooth, efficient line operation

Prep Cook

● Assist in the daily preparation of fresh ingredients including vegetables, sauces, garnishes, stocks, and batters

● Support mise en place for dishes in restaurant as requested by Chef

● Portion proteins, prepare and assemble components for soups, starters and entrees

● Maintain a clean and sanitary prep area while following all food safety standards

● Assist as needed with various kitchen duties

What You Bring:

● 1+ years of experience in a professional kitchen preferred (but we’re open to passionate learners!)

● Solid knife skills and understanding of basic cooking techniques

● Ability to follow recipes and plating guides with attention to detail

● Strong work ethic, reliability, and a team-first attitude

● Food Safe Level 1 (or willingness to obtain upon hiring)

● Passion for great food and hospitality
