About the Role:

Reporting to the Sales and Business Development Manager, the Product Specialist is a driving force behind our continued growth. You are an ambassador for the BAUCO brand, engaging new and existing customers like architects, engineers, contractors, developers, interior designers, and distributors to ensure they are aware of our full complement of products and services.

You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities and nurturing relationships with decision-makers in the construction industry throughout North America. Your creativity, energy, and strategic thinking will fuel our growth and continue to solidify our position as an industry leader.

A Day in the Life:

You are driven by genuine curiosity about clients and the construction industry, and you take pride in being a trusted advisor on everything access panel. You are self-motivated, reliable, and bring a positive, can-do attitude to every interaction: picking up the phone, coordinating projects and writing warm emails are second nature to you.

Your day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Developing and nurturing strong relationships with new and existing contractors, architects, engineers, distributors, developers, interior designers, property managers.
  • Exceeding client expectations as a trusted advisor on everything access panel.
  • Using your instincts and creativity to strategically prospect and pursue construction project opportunities via phone, travel, emails, virtual events, and off-site events.
  • Collecting market and product information through research and listening to client’s concerns to stay ahead of trends, understand competitor strategies, and uncover untapped potential.
  • Delivering informational presentations and product demonstrations.
  • Working out of our Victoria, BC office, with the opportunity for occasional travel for tradeshow and networking activities (destinations such as NYC, LA, Phoenix, Miami, Toronto, Vancouver, Chicago, Washington DC, Bermuda, etc.)

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent and relevant work experience
  • Five years or equivalent experience in customer service, B2B sales/service, or consultative sales environment
  • Experience in a construction, architectural, or design-related field an asset
  • Self-motivation to pick up the phone and make things happen
  • A high performer’s proven record of accomplishment, showcasing ability to consistently exceed targets and deliver exceptional results
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer skills – familiar with CRM programs, use of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to focus on desired targets, set goals and action plans
  • Ability to develop in-depth knowledge of our product, client, and industry
