Full job description

Company Overview

MDT Sporting Goods Ltd. (MDT) is the market leader in bolt action rifle chassis and accessories. Our products are used worldwide by firearm enthusiasts, manufacturers and law enforcement agencies for accuracy, quality, and reliability. At MDT, we pride ourselves on working hard, enjoying what we do, and exceeding our customers’ expectations. With a focus on being legendary, we are looking for top talent and people who are excited and passionate to work in this industry to enhance our customers' experience.
Summary

This is a hands-on full-stack development position. You'll build and maintain internal business applications, integrations, and tools that directly support our operations. We're not a software company, but we depend heavily on the systems we build and maintain. The developer we are looking for will work directly on the tools that run our business. You'll work closely with our existing Full Stack Developer and Business Systems Developer and coordinate regularly with the Support team.

Responsibilities

  • ERP integrations and data workflow (Experience with any mid-market ERP is an asset)
  • REST API development and third-party system integrations
  • Front-end interfaces for internal teams: Dashboards, reporting tools, workflow UIs
  • Automation that reduces manual work across departments
  • Internal business applications: Building, maintaining, and improving tools that support operations

Qualifications

  • Proven full-stack development experience
  • Solid SQL skills and comfortable with relational databases
  • Experience building and consuming REST APIs
  • Proficiency with version control (Git)
  • Strong with both backend and frontend
  • Clear communicator, you can explain what you built and why to people who aren’t developers

Who You Are:

  • Takes ownership of your responsibilities: you don't wait to be told something is broken
  • Works independently, managing your own priorities and flagging blockers early
  • Passionate about the work you do and wants everything done in a legendary fashion
  • Eager to grow: new tools, new problems, and new domains don't intimidate you
  • Leaves things better than you found them

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with ERP systems in a manufacturing or distribution environment (Acumatica, NetSuite, SAP B1, Epicor, or similar)
  • Familiarity with manufacturing operations concepts: BOMs, inventory, work orders, purchasing
  • Experience working in a small IT or development team where roles overlap
  • Comfort with AI-assisted development tools (you know how to use them well, not just lean on them)
  • PHP, React, TypeScript, or Node.js experience

This is an excellent opportunity if you are looking for a place to grow, put down roots, and do work that matters to the people around you. If this sounds like something you are looking for, we would like to hear from you! Please submit your resume and a note about what you've built.

Pay: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Casual dress
  • Company events
  • Dental care
  • Extended health care
  • Paid time off
  • RRSP match
  • Vision care

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Chilliwack, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Application question(s):

  • Please write a short note about what you've built. Something that you are proud of and the type of work that you want and enjoy doing.
  • Do you have any experience with the ERP system Acumatica?
  • What type of AI-assisted development tools have you used, and what have you used them for?

Experience:

  • ERP systems: 1 year (preferred)

Work Location: In person
